            Santa Cruz Central Elementary School (SCCES) is an institution of learning manned by caring, committed, and value-laden stakeholders harmoniously and productively working together to provide a healthy, clean, green, safe and secure learning environment that is conducive for both teaching and learning. It is located at the heart of Barangay Zone III, Poblacion, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.

            Covering an area of 36,184 sq. meters, SCCES has 29 well-organized school buildings, consisting of 81 well-furnished classrooms, Gabaldon Building, Home Economics Building, Industrial Arts Building, Nutrition and Feeding Center, ICT Room, a library and a gymnasium. It also boasts a well-manicured plaza, vegetable and plant gardens, spacious lawn and well-trimmed hedges, with various trees robustly growing in the fertile grounds of the school. Because of its squeaky clean and organized surroundings, the school – which was then called Santa Cruz Elementary School – was recognized as THE CLEANEST SCHOOL IN ENTIRE PHILIPPINES in 1970s.

            Aside from its beautiful physical features, SCCES is also proud to have an ethnically diverse student population, consisting of Visayans (which comprise the majority group), Badjaos, Muslims, Bagobos, and Ilocanos. In addition to the K to 12 Curriculum, the school – acknowledged as a SPED Center in Davao del Sur – offers individualized program for children with special needs. It also offers Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) program for pupils with Islamic background, Badjao Extension program for Badjao learners from Grades 1 to 3, and ancillary services such as school library, ICT, guidance program, health services, supplementary feeding, and religious instruction.

            For this SY 2019-2020, the school has a total student population of 3,095 and excellently served by 93 competent and committed professional teachers who are wiling to go the extra mile to help each student achieve educational success. The school strives to always involve its stakeholders in the education of our children and maintenance of the school in order to perpetuate the culture of cooperation, unity and volunteerism that becomes the hallmark of this school.
